Our Trip to HISTORIC RICHMOND TOWN

Today we went on a trip to Historic Richmond Town. This trip ties in to what we have been learning about in Social Studies, which is what life was like then and now. Before we went on the trip we learned a lot about how people lived in the 1700's and one of the books we read was "Charlie Needs a Cloak" By Tomie dePaola. While we were at Historic Richmond Town the children were able to hear a reading of the same book. They touched real sheep wool, they got to card it (clean it with 2 brushes), they also spun the sheeps wool into thread and got to sew part of a cloak. The trip was a lot of fun...Take a look at these awesome pictures.

Thanks,
